Additional Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK 1080p Upconverting VHS DVD Recorder with Built In Tuner Information

The Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK DVD recorder is capable of receiving both digital and analog broadcasts. Even when digital signals drop out because of interference with direct signal access, which makes the picture either disappear or become filled with block noise, the Digital Tuner still produces a beautiful picture. Just slip the SD card into the slot or use the cable to connect the camera to the USB terminal, and you're ready to enjoy a spectacular big-screen slideshow with family and friends. You can even listen to music recorded onto a USB device while viewing your photos. Connect your Panasonic DVD recorder to a flat-panel HDTV via an HDMI cable and the TV channel setting information is automatically downloaded to the recorder. Once the Auto Preset Download is complete, the DVD recorder will keep whichever TV channel you're watching as its receiving channel. This means you can record the program you're watching by just pressing the Record button on the VIERA remote. With VIERALink, you don't have to worry about setting the recorder to the right channel every time you want to record something. Frequently used buttons, such as Power and Open/Close, are located at the top of the main unit (this makes them easier to see when the unit is placed in a rack, where you need to look down when operating it). What Customers Say About Panasonic DMR-EZ48VK 1080p Upconverting VHS DVD Recorder with Built In Tuner:

AND, even if you're willing to do that, IT WILL NOT PLAY ON MACHINES OTHER THAN PANASONIC. I'm returning mine. In order to edit (remove commercials, etc).

So if editing and archiving is important, forget this product. P.S. It will (and is probably intended to)keep you tethered to Panasonic forever.

This is an all-around decent recorder/player, but it has one significant flaw: editing. This was confirmed by Panasonic technical support. This applies to all similar Panasonic models.

you MUST use a DVD-RAM disc. Not the old Sony stashed in the bedroom, not anything.

I use DVD+RW discs which allow me to delete and reuse after viewing. to DVD discs for posterity, and for these I use ordinary DVD+R discs which do not permit adding new material to them. I am very satisfied with this item which was refurbished by Panasonic. I am also transferring my old VHS travel tapes, etc. They are one-time recordings for my own use or for making copies for friends, etc.As I said above, I am very happy with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone with the same needs. It is as good as new and is relatively simple to program for my needs, although there are many other features that are available but which I do not need to use at this time like playing MP3s,JPEG,DivX, etc.I bought this item because I do not have cable or satellite service and receive the new digital TV transmissions on-the-air with ordinary rabbit ears costing about $12. I am fortunate that my house is in plain view of the Sutro TV tower in San Francisco so my reception is perfect.I use it primarily to record TV programs that are broadcasted while I am away from home and which I do not want to miss.

Panasonic refused to acknowledge the problem until confronted with other complaints. Unless you plan to use this for playback only, DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT. The timer on this unit is completely unreliable. Even so, they were reluctant to replace the machine without serious demand. I WOULD GIVE IT ZERO STARS, BUT THIS WAS NOT AN OPTION. It will freeze and fail to record without warning or pattern. I am on my third replacement machine and second firmware upgrade and still having problems.

It was a bit pricey but that's my only dislike. It also works with the new HD broadcasts if you have and older TV and need the tuner.

I don't see how you could be disappointed. You can buy it with confidence.

I had a panasonic camera that I was very impressed by. Crystal clear videos, as good as a DVD you buy or rent from a store.

Tom This quality of this unit is just as high as the camera I love.

The performance of this unit is wonderful.

Getting through to the 1-800 number is close to impossible. I do not recommened buying this unit. This DVD Recorder is horrible. If you call in the evenings the phone is always busy and they close at 9:00 p.m. I have had constant problems with the unit. I have tried calling the 1-800 number and they have been of little help.
